Characters in the Change Characters list are changed to respective characters in the Change Above To list, or the Default Change character if there is none. This setting only has meaning if the above box is checked.
Default Change
This character will be used when there is no respective character in the Change Above To list for a character in the Change Characters list. It is also used during MS-DOS character conversion for characters which have no DOS equivalent.
When this box is checked, this Cleaner truncates files names to the 8-character DOS limit.
